who is woodland stonework

My names Blair Woodland and I am a Stonemason based in St Teath North Cornwall, nestled between the breathtaking north Cornish coast and the rugged Bodmin Moor. I have a huge passion for working with stone which I think is apparent in the projects that I have completed. My passion for stone came whilst working with my dad who has been a mason all his life, he too loves working with stone and I used to labour for him. I spent my time admiring what was possible with stone. I moved on to doing all aspects of building myself but every time I got the chance to lay stone I knew it was the path for me. I made the decision to only take on stonework and I havnt’t looked back since. Since then I have been lucky enough to work on some great projects with some great people.

“anything is possible”

working with stone in a natural way

The best thing about working with stone is that it’s a natural product, dug straight from the ground after forming for hundreds of millions of years. With this in mind we believe that we should treat the stone with the upmost respect. Using it in a way which really shows of its natural beauty, with its unique colours and shapes. We strive to use traditional methods with the stone as much as possible which usually only ever requires a hammer and chisel.
